Beara Youth Development Project allocated €104,500 for 2011.
Noel Harrington TD welcomes Minister Fitzgerald’s announcement of Youth Services Funding.
Minister for Children, Frances Fitzgerald, T.D, today announced the Funding Allocation for Youth Service Organisations – Special Projects, operating in Cork City and County. The allocation for 2011 of €104,500 for the Beara Youth Development Organisation has been hugely welcomed by Beara based TD Noel Harrington. Deputy Harrington said that “this allocation will be of enormous benefit to the Foroige Youth Development Organisation, who has done Trojan work in the Beara Peninsula since 2000. Their latest project, The Lounge, a Youth Café centre in Castletownbere, where young people meet, with voluntary supervision, has been a tremendous success to date. It will further enable then to carry out their programme of work for the whole Beara region by enhancing the facilities, empowering the youth and enriching the community”.
“This coming just a couple of weeks after the official opening of the Friends Forever Childcare facility in Castletownbere, is very positive for the area and for the young people of the region”, Deputy Harrington added.
