Ferry Service between Cork and the UK – Feasibility Study

CORK COUNTY COUNCIL AND PORT OF CORK ANNOUNCE FEASIBILITY STUDY ON THE REVIVAL OF A FERRY SERVICE BETWEEN CORK AND THE UK

The Mayor, Cllr. Tim Lombard, is pleased to announce the setting up of a group to review the feasibility of the Cork/UK ferry service.

The review group will include Cork County Council, The Port of Cork, Fáilte Ireland and representation from the Irish Exporters Association.

According to Cllr Lombard, the loss of this critical access route is being very sharply felt in the South West of Ireland, the most popular tourism region in the country after Dublin city. The absence of the route is also felt by the manufacturing sector which has lost a vital alternative freight link to the UK.
