Fastnet Line – MV Julia Withdrawal of Service

STATEMENT FROM FASTNET LINE
FASTNET LINE apologises to its customers for any inconvenience that the short notice of the withdrawal of the service may cause. The re-structured viable business plan that has been presented as part of the examinership process, forecasts that the service will re commence on Friday April 6th 2012 and sail until Saturday September 29th 2012.
Dunmanway Community Enterprise Centre
Cork County Council has entered into a partnership agreement with Enterprise Ireland and the Dunmanway Community, through the Enterprise network, to co-fund the construction of a proposed community enterprise centre for Dunmanway.
Welcoming the project, The Mayor of Cork County, Cllr. Tim Lombard pledged the support of Cork County Council and stated that “this project will deliver badly needed employment and investment in the Dunmanway region.” He further commended the efforts of the community and stated “that this project is an example of the partnership approach between local authority, semi-state and the community sector.”
This centre itself is estimated to cost in the region of €800,000 and will provide a mix of food units, hot desking, own door offices and training rooms. Cork County Council are committing a financial contribution of up to €350,000 with the remaining funding to be provided by Enterprise Ireland and the local community.
Theresa White, Assistant County Manager, Cork County Council stated that the achievement of this Centre is a culmination of the efforts of the community of Dunmanway and was a specific objective in their Dunmanway Integrated Development Strategy. It is anticipated that jobs will accrue to the area from this initiative and she joined with the Mayor in welcoming the project.
