Harrington takes 2nd Seat in Cork South West

Noel Harrington - FG TD for Cork South West

The rugged Beara Peninsula, and Castletownbere has it’s very first Dail Deputy.  Noel Harrington took the 2nd seat in Cork South West.

Deputy Harrington, a County Councillor for the past 12 years will join his colleague Jim Daly, current Mayor of Cork County, in the 31st Dail and Michael McCarthy, a Labour Senator.

Three brand new young faces representing Cork South West, as the outgoing Fine Gael T’D's did not re-seek election and FF Christy O’Sullivan loses his seat.

Enda Kenny launches Youth Manifesto

Fine Gael Leader Enda Kenny TD has today (Tuesday) outlined the core elements of the Party’s plan to improve the lives of Ireland’s young people, as set out in the Young Fine Gael Youth Manifesto.

 Speaking at the launch where he was joined by 17 young Fine Gael candidates, Enda Kenny said: ‘At the heart of the current economic crisis is an unemployment crisis. 300,000 jobs in Ireland – 14% of the total – have been wiped out since the recession took hold and 100,000 people, mostly young people, will emigrate over the next two years’.
